Business Cred...

You know what makes you lose your tough guy business cred? Shorts with lobsters on them. I was at starbucks this morning and there was a guy talking some tough business on his cell phone wearing white shorts with little blue lobsers on them. He could only do business this way, if anybody was in his presence they would have laughed at him.

Here are the offending shorts, if you look very closely you will also notice they are cut offs....



My latest project is infused vodka. I've got a bottle of kiwi and a bottle of mango vodka stewing in my window sill. The tasting after 24 hours of infusion provided some pretty unremarkable results, but I won't give up until it works. I took lots of pictures so when I get to a staisfactory point I'll post up a how to on the subject (as if it's never been done before). After the vodka I may try to move on to gin or bourbon, just to see how it works.

I've also been thinking a lot about distillation and how cooling rates and boiling temperatures might affect the quality and smoothness of the alcohol. May have to start looking at a fisher sci catalog to make a stil.

The natural food project isn't forgotten it's just on hold until I get a bit more organized. I'd like to wait a bit until more veggies come in to season. I think being able to buy stuff at a farmers market or getting it shipped from home would be the best options.

Probably going to start up Urban Spoon roulette Thursdays again. It was something I was trying to do before I had my Portland adventure, so now that I'm back settled in the consumerist heartland, I'd like to start this again. So maybe Friday resturant reviews from now on, who knows?
